Acai Berry Side Effects

With most dietary supplements there side effects that tend to be unpleasant at best. However being a natural fruit found in the wild, there are very few side effects from 100% acai berry supplements.

The side effects are very mild with the most common complaint being abdominal distress such as flatulence or diarrhea. This tends to be more akin to those whom are supplementing their diet with acai berry juice vs. the powdered form or pill supplements. Other side effects noted are minor headache and loss of appetite, however if the supplements are being taken for dietary or weight loss reason, the loss of appetite is seen more as a blessing.

As with any substance in the world there is a chance that someone will have an allergic reaction to Acai berries, or the supplements derived from them. If when taking these supplements you develop a rash, inflammation or itching, discontinue use of the supplement immediately and symptoms should clear up. If the symptoms do not clear up after a few days after stopping use, please consult your doctor.

In it’s natural form, Acai berry has very few side effects. However as with many products on the market, especially in the realm of herbal supplements, you need to be vigilant in reading the labels and checking ingredient lists. Make sure there is nothing included in the ingredients you are not comfortable ingesting. For example, if you have adverse reactions to caffine, and the supplement you are looking at contains it as an ingredient, you might want to avoid that one and look elsewhere.
